+ FILLING THE VOIDS
ABOUT
Designed for the rural black community of Plantersville with the goal of filling the voids within the community. Formally, the architecture is bound by the Grid created by repeating the lines of the site boundaries, this allows for the architecture to intersect at certain points in order to create intersectional spaces for community gathering. These spaces are voids within the architecture allowing for ultimate flexibility for this small community. The architecture resembles agricultural shed construction and historic slave quarters in form and materiality. While experiencing the site, you follow a weaving path through the Grid as you follow the journey of a young black child navigating through their lives.
